The Neroberg, Wiesbaden's landmark hill, is a popular place for excursions. The vineyard on the southern slope of the hill is preserved as a site of historic interest. Visitors can enjoy an excellent view of Wiesbaden and the surrounding area from a circular pavilion, called a monopteros. Offering a very special kind of travelling experience, the historic Neroberg mountain railway, a water-driven funicular, connects the Neroberg with the Nerotal valley.
