Event details
She is unquestionably one of the exceptional artists: With a great voice and a fine sense of language, Jamie Barton shines. In her last recital at Oper Frankfurt in the winter of 2015, she caused rave reviews and a cheering audience. Her performance here as Cornelia in Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto was equally acclaimed. Jamie Barton not only sings at prestigious opera houses in the U.S. such as Santa Fe Opera, Lyric Opera Chicago, in Atlanta, and at the Metropolitan Opera New York, but also appears at leading European houses, including as Fenena (Nabucco) at the Royal Opera House London, as Leonor in La favorite at the Teatro Real in Madrid, as Azucena (Il trovatore) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and as Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde) at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. Winner of the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and the 2014 International Opera Award, she is now considered an internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano. High time to experience Jamie Barton in her second Frankfurt recital together with pianist and composer Jake Heggie.
