On view are central themes and works from her past 20 creative years. In her image series and video works, Brotherus repeatedly explores the manifold connections between model, artist, and viewer, between man and woman, figure and place, as well as the genres of portrait and nude. With her typical sometimes curious, sometimes touching, sometimes ironic self-stagings, the photographer explores emotions and tensions, for example, being alone and being together, being lost and being safe, love, longing, mourning and, in her more recent works, more often joy.
