The hr-Bigband has the honor of inviting one of the great divas of jazz onto the stage: Dianne Reeves is a guest at the Alte Oper Frankfurt together with her musical director John Beasley and new big band arrangements - a perfect match!
She has achieved what every singer dreams of five times: winning a Grammy. And not only that, Dianne Reeves is the only one of the honorees who has managed to win the award in three consecutive years. The Detroit-born musician's career began in Los Angeles in the mid-1970s when Brazilian Sergio Mendes took her on her first major tour. Dianne Reeves experienced her big breakthrough a decade later thanks to Harry Belafonte, who introduced her to a global audience as the lead singer. This was followed by a recording contract with Blue Note Records and the aforementioned Grammys.
