Wilhelmsbad State Park with Hessian Toys and Dolls Museum

Fairytale-like are the historical Wilhelmsbad Spa Gardens. They are home to Hesse’s Doll and Toy museum and to the world’s oldest, detached, functioning carousel. Built in 1780, it has been restored recently to its former splendour and offers rides on its magnificently painted wooden horses and carriages multiple times a year.

Beschreibung

The State Park was designed in the style of an English landscape garden and served the royal and civil spa guests in the past as a place of peace and relaxation but also as a social venue. Besides that a playground with swings and the popular carrousel are located there. Nowadays not as many bathing guests come to the State Park but it is still a very popular destination for children and adults to stroll around.
