The special attraction of this castle is its martial turret which stands in the middle of a square pond, accessible only over one bridge. Since 1999 careful sanitation and restoration activities have been going on in line with the monument preservation authorities. Today the Kavaliershaus (where noble male visitors used to reside) and the adjacent Orangerie accommodate the Gutsrestaurant (Estate´s restaurant). The winery has a centuries-old tradition since 1211 and today it manages 80 hectares of vineyards, cultivated exclusively with Riesling wine. You have the opportunity to buy wine from the vinotheque every day and the private rooms of the manor are an extraordinary setting for your events. In the area surrounding Castel Vollrads there are nature trails for walking and discovering the Vollrads forest.
