Park Schönbusch
Bavarian´s oldest English landscape garden.
Beschreibung
Aschaffenburg´s Park Schönbusch was built by the archbishop Karl Joseph von Erthal (1774 - 1802) in style of an English landscape garden in 1776 until 1782. Strolling, boating on the idyllic lake or meeting philosophers and feeling the pleasure of the time of the Electors of Mainz, that´s all reasons why this park is such an attractive "urban" destination. The Palace of the garden can be visited - there you can see the chamber pot which was used allegedly by the mistress of King Ludwig I., Lola Montez.
The park is open all year round and does not require an admission fee. The opening hours for the Park Visitors' Centre can be found here. Please note that for visiting the Centre you will need an entrance ticket for the Schönbusch Palace.
