Description
The former Opel Racetrack was one of the most innovative constructions of the 1920s. The reason for building it were complaints from the residents of Rüsselsheim about the noisy test drives from Opel through the city of Rüsselsheim. With speed up to 140 km/h the "Motodrom" was Europe´s fastest racing track and attracted hundreds of people from near and far. After World War II it slowly faded into obscurity and was renaturated. During the past years the historical importance of the Opel Racetrack was realized, so part of the track was exposed again and is now open to the public.
