One of the valuable nature areas in the district of Gross-Gerau and one of the last wetlands in Southern Hesse is the "Mönchbruch" by Mörfelden and Rüsselsheim.

Beschreibung

The mixture of large wet meadow areas and old alder and oak forests in the 937 hectare sized Nature Reserve Mönchbruch provides a habitat for many rare animal and plant species. For millennia, Mönchbruch has preserved its own charm. The nature reserve has in its center a unique historico-cultural memorial, the old hunting lodge.
