Description
Not many major German cities can boast their own vineyard. With its "Lohrberger Hang", in the district of Seckbach, Frankfurt even has a piece of the famous Rheingau growing region within its city limits. Around 10,000 bottles of "Lohrberger" are produced every year from the grapes growing in the city area. From Frankfurt's local mountain, one has a wonderful panoramic view of the city with lush greenery and skyline. The entire urban wine-growing area extends over about 25 hectares. Most of it, however, is located in the Rheingau region, on the banks of the Main River in Hochheim. The wine and sparkling wine town is in the immediate vicinity and is a nice destination for wine lovers.
