Frankfurt am Main
From classical and jazz concerts, children's events, cabaret, previews, readings and literary discussions to the German Jazz Festival, carnival sessions or television broadcasts, the broadcasting hall of the Hessischer Rundfunk with its foyer offers space for a wide variety of events.
The special quality of the hr broadcasting hall, which was inaugurated in 1954 and completely rebuilt in 1987/88, is not only its excellent acoustics, but also its multifunctionality: it is a concert hall, rehearsal room and modern recording studio all in one; the hr symphony orchestra and the hr big band work here and give numerous concerts, but CD productions are also regularly realized here. At its front end, the hr-Sendesaal has a concert organ. The audience area offers up to 840 seats.
