Horváth Centre
1700 Jewish girls and women were deported from Hungary to Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944 and from there to Walldorf. They were forced to build the first concrete tarmac for the Frankfurt airport, which was under the rule of military sovereignty at that time.

Description
The Horváth Centre opened in September 2016 and is reminiscent of the horror and suffering that took place in the outpost of a concentration camp in Walldorf in 1944. It preserves the former kitchen cellar, in which the prisoners had been terribly beaten. At the same time, today it is a place for young people, who want to engage themselves in questions about antisemitism and social discrimination of minorities.
Opening Times:
From March to December every first Sunday a month 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Guided tours upon prior arrangement Museum of the City Mörfelden-Walldorf, phone: +49 (0)6105 938-875.
