Beschreibung
Michelstadt is small in size but big in history and interesting things. In this medieval picturesque town situated in the heart of the Odenwald - less than an one hour drive from Frankfurt or Heidelberg - you will have a great time. Just stroll along the cobblestone streets, passing half-timbered houses and unique stores and enjoy the enchanting atmosphere. The historical Town Hall, built in 1484, is one of the most beautiful and architecturally significant timber-frame buildings in Germany. Furthermore, you can see a lot of impressive, well preserved buildings e.g. the Thieves Tower, the former Frankish manor "Kellerei", the Synagogue or the largely intact city wall. Large forests, peaks with overwhelming views and charming valleys make Michelstadt a popular destination also for nature lovers.    Â
