Hessian State Theatre Wiesbaden
Under the artistic direction of Uwe Eric Laufenberg, the Hessian State Theatre counts among the most successful stages in the German-speaking theatre landscape. Since 1896, the International May Theatre Festival has been the annual cultural highlight of the city's theatre calendar. Founded on the initiative of Emperor Wilhelm II as the "Kaiserspiele" (Emperor’s Festival), the May Theatre Festival is Germany's oldest festival after the one in Bayreuth.
