The 43.3 meter high observation tower on the northern edge of Frankfurt's city forest is one of the city's landmarks.
Built entirely of wood in 1931, the tower was named after the Frankfurt poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. In 2017, it was completely destroyed by arson and rebuilt in the following years. The reconstruction was carried out, also at the request of the citizens of Frankfurt, as true to the original as possible.
