Abbey of St. Hildegard
The Abbey of St. Hildegard was founded at the beginning of the 20th century in succession of the two foundations made by Saint Hildegard on the Rupertsberg and the village of Eibingen in 1148 and 1165.

The Abbey of St. Hildegard was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. After the secularization in 1803 the abbey was newly founded in its current place. The monastery is situated above the city of Rüdesheim on the Rhine. The Benedictine nuns are living according to the Rule of St. Benedict and they Combine prayer and daily work, community life as well as solitude to form a fruitful togetherness. In order to ensure the monestery´s economic Basis the sisters run a book- and art shop, a big winery, a spelt products Business, a Goldsmith Workshop, a pottery Workshop as well as a Workshop for the restoration of damaged documents from church archives. The abbey also has a guesthouse with 16 rooms where people looking for peace and reflection can spend a limited time and participate in retreats and seminars offered by the sisters.
