Around the world, the street art of the anonymous British artist Banksy polarises and inspires. After the exhibition "The Art of Banksy - Without Limits" celebrated great success in the Middle East, Australia, Asia, the USA and Europe with over 1.4 million visitors, Frankfurt now joins the growing list of global cities where his creativity is celebrated through the exhibition. From 21 April, fans can experience his iconic works up close in the exhibition "The Art of Banksy - Without Limits" for the first time in Germany, at Frankfurt's Zeil 121.
Banksy is considered one of the most valuable and most discussed artists of our time, whose popularity cannot be denied. The exhibition "The Art of Banksy - Without Limits" comprises more than 160 works by the artist, including prints, photographs, lithographs and sculptures, which are carefully reproduced with his stencil technique especially for the exhibition. In addition, visitors can view various wall installations by renowned graffiti artists that authentically wrestle the spirit of street art into an indoor exhibition Through these elements, as well as video mapping installations, murals and several experiential areas, the exhibition is individually adapted to the venue.
A video documentary gives visitors insights into Banksy's life and work, presented in a unique setting. The exhibition offers an immersive experience and is a must-see to learn about and celebrate his art. Other highlights include the "Dismaland" installations from Banksy's 2015 pop-up Bemusement Park, prints of "Flower Thrower" and "Kissing Coppers", and the sculpture "Phone Booth". Other surprises include an area dedicated to Banksy's activism in relation to immigrants and an "Infinity Room" dealing with politics.
"With his creations, Banksy addresses significant truths and problems in our world to which we are all too willing to close our eyes. A Banksy work touches everyone and is addressed to everyone, whether they want it or not. This is exactly why it is so important to me personally to exhibit Banksy's works, to make them accessible to the world and to celebrate them. Banksy is making history with his art - the history that is reality for us right now," says Banksy expert Virgina Jean. The young curator and gallerist, who comes from England and lives in Berlin, is a versatile designer and unalterable creative. Banksy has always been a major influence and inspiration in her life due to her background and passion for creativity and free art as a means of communication. After many years of working in the classical art market, she created numerous projects and exhibitions in the field of street art and therefore accompanies the exhibition "The Art of Banksy - Without Limits" as an expert on Banksy's works and a specialist in the street art industry.
