Event details
As Strauss' Salome, she scaled the operatic Olympus overnight at the Salzburg Festival. She then made her acclaimed debuts at the Bayreuth Festival as Senta in Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London in the title role of Janáček's Jenůfa. She was acclaimed as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and as Puccini's Manon Lescaut at the Vienna State Opera, as Lisa in Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades at La Scala in Milan and as Puccini's Madama Butterfly in Stockholm. In Frankfurt, the exceptional soprano has already been heard as Tchaikovsky's Iolanta and as Manon Lescaut, as which she returns here this season. Now there is the opportunity to get even closer to Asmik Grigorian on the occasion of her first Frankfurt recital: Alongside pianist Lukas Geniušas, she will perform carefully selected songs by Sergei Rachmaninoff - the program of their joint CD, released by Alpha Classics in March 2022 under the title Dissonance. "It's not a solo album," Asmik Grigorian emphasizes, "with Rachmaninoff there are only duets between singer and pianist."
