Mathildenhöhe World Heritage Festival with exhibition opening 4–3–2–1 Darmstadt
In July 2021, Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it one of the most important cultural sites in the world.

September 20 to 22, 2024, the Mathildenhöhe will celebrate its World
Heritage Festival, including the opening of the exhibition "4–3–2–1
Darmstadt" in the extensively renovated Exhibition Hall.

The multifaceted special exhibition entitled "4–3–2–1 Darmstadt" is a show on the art topography of Darmstadt. Outstanding paintings, sculptures, graphics, photographs and video art from the Darmstadt Municipal Art Collection shed light on historical events in the city and present extraordinary personalities who have lived and worked here.
The whole weekend will be celebrated on the Mathildenhöhe. On Friday and Saturday, the World Heritage Site will be illuminated in an atmospheric way and on all days there will be an extensive guided tour and music programme, an arts and crafts market, gastronomic offerings and a special family programme on Sunday.
