Event details
Andreas Bauer Kanabas has been a Frankfurt ensemble member since the 2013/14 season and has interpreted roles such as the Commendatore, Osmin, King Philip II, Jacopo Fiesco, the Aquarius, and the title role of Duke Bluebeard's Castle with his distinctive bass voice. His Wagner roles include Daland, Heinrich der Vogler, Landgrave Hermann von Thüringen and King Marke. This season he has also appeared as Veit Pogner and Sarastro; he will also appear as Adahm in Die ersten Menschen in another new production. A cross-section of his repertoire can be heard on his debut CD Love And Despair (Oehms-Classics). Andreas Bauer Kanabas is also in demand internationally, from the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan and the Opéra National in Paris to the New National Theatre in Tokyo. With Schubert's last song cycle Schwanengesang on texts by Heinrich Heine, Ludwig Rellstab and Johann Gabriel Seidl, he now presents himself in Frankfurt for the first time as a Lied singer.
