Pianist and singer Jan Luley learned with and from the pianists in New Orleans and is closely connected to the music scene there. In his music, which he calls "Contemporary New Orleans Style Piano", Luley processes songs from the birthplace of jazz, packs them into his own arrangements and mixes them with titles from swing, blues, pop and film music. In his current solo program "Reflections Of New Orleans", Luley's own compositions are seamlessly combined with songs by James Booker, Harry Connick Jr. or Tom Waits to form a sensually grooving whole.
