Under the title Frankfurt Opera Night, Oper Frankfurt is presenting an unusual event format for the third time, this time as part of the performance of Richard Strauss' Salome.
In Barrie Kosky's highly acclaimed production - "world class" was how the Frankfurter Rundschau described it on the occasion of the recent second revival - the singers include Ambur Braid (Salome), Nicholas Brownlee (Jochanaan), Matthias Wohlbrecht (Herod), Katharina Magiera (Herodias), Gerard Schneider (Narraboth) and Bianca Andrew (Page). Leo Hussain is the musical director.
The evening begins after the house opens at 6.30 pm with a small reception to get the audience in the mood for the opera evening. At the exclusive get-together after the performance from 9.15 pm, there will be an opportunity to talk to the artists of the evening as well as other guests and employees of Oper Frankfurt in the festively lit Wolkenfoyer over a flying buffet including drinks. There is sure to be an encore or two from the singers in attendance.
