Frankfurt is in a constant state of flux: demolition, construction sites, reconstruction and detour show us the continuous transformation. How do residents experience and interpret these urban changes? What is their view of the city?
Around 100 urban lab assistants explored the urban space by drawing. Because drawing requires a close look, they created individual, subjective perspectives and different combinations.
Individual buildings, streetscapes, open spaces and housing developments came to the fore. The construction sites at Kaiserlei and in the Allerheiligenviertel were as much the subject of artistic contemplation as the transformation of the retail trade at Hauptwache. In addition, the works deal with climate change, vacancy, mobility, post-war modernism and transformation possibilities of the car-friendly city. The views range from panorama to detail. Color accents and captions make it clear what is important to the artists and what is not.
