Park Schönbusch

Bavarian´s oldest English landscape garden.

Aschaffenburg´s park Schönbusch was built by the archbishop Karl Joseph von Erthal (1774-1802) in style of an English landscape garden in 1776 till 1782. Strolling, boating on the idyllic lake or meeting philosophers and feeling the pleasure of the time of the Electors of Mainz, that´s all reasons why the park is such an attractive "urban" destination. The palace of the garden can be visited - there you´ll be able to see the chamber pot which was used allegedly by the mistress of King Ludwig I, Lola Montez.
