Known colloquially as the “Bavarian Cote d’Azur”. Aschaffenburg is a city well worth a visit. There is certainly much to discover here, such as the bloom of magnolias in spring, the unique Pompejanum during summer, Bavaria’s oldest jardin anglais in the autumn or old masters such as Cranach, Grünewald, Kirchner and Schad in the cold of winter. Aschaffenburg is also a city of short distances. The many traditional and modern events held here provide entertainment all year round. The city’s almost Mediterranean climate helped it to gain its moniker, “the Nice of Bavaria”.
